The beautiful Luxor
By: Pian Sopian
Not all tourists visiting the city of Luxor to know that in the era of ancient Egypt Luxor was the capital of the state (1550-1069 BC). Amenhothep pharaoh, Ramses II, even defeated by 'Alexander the Great' from Macedomia. Piece of holiday we spent in Luxor helped make my experience one of the historic world famous heritage in archeology. Like most cities located in the valley of the Nile, Luxor was divided into two namely: the eastern and Luxor Luxor west. Based on the ancient Egyptian belief that the circulation cycle of the sun (rising in the east and sets in the west) is a solar system that represents the life cycle of the Egyptians, then east of Luxor was the center of activity where all civilizations living creatures are born, grow, and live.

Why You Must Visit Siwa A Sahara Oasis In Western Egypt
By: Peter R Stewart
Siwa is a small desert oasis some 350 miles west of Cairo, and the best time to go there is between October and April, which is before the mosquitoes and the heat arrive. At this time of year the nights can be very cold, even freezing. It isn't easy to reach Siwa which is the most western of the five major oases of Egypt. A hire car, fully air conditioned can take about eight hours to get to this Sahara Oasis.

I’m Going to Egypt on Holiday – How’s the Food ?
By: Stuart Cheese
In my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited, I am often asked all kinds of travel questions. One that regularly comes up is food and so if you are planning a trip to Egypt, here is some information that may be handy to have… Firstly, it’s not exciting, but lets talk water. Only drink bottled water. Even in hotels and restaurants, the water can be dodgy and therefore the golden rule is to only drink bottled water. This is easy to do of course, but do keep a couple of thoughts in the back of your mind. It’s not just drinking were water can end up in your system. Ice is something people often overlook and don’t forget, ice is just frozen water. Salads are another thing to think about. Salads are of course very unlikely to be washed in bottled water. So again it’s something to think about

Restaurants in Cairo, Egypt - Where to Dine and Drink
By: Amar Mahallati
Satisfying most edible desires, Cairo, Egypt is home to a never-ending source of eateries. Inexpensive food is always easily accessible everywhere about the streets, as restaurants and snack stalls are all over the place. The highest-rated dining opportunities are most often, but not always situated in hotels and Nile boats. The borders found between eateries and cafes are not clearly defined within the Egyptian capital. In numerous locations, it is rather satisfactory to simply sip on a drink or sheesha. Mid-range and high-range sites may request a minimum charge. The less expensive eateries and some of the pricier outlets typically do not serve alcohol.

The female pharaoh
By: Mari? Heese
The female pharaoh
For many years I wondered and read about Hatshepsut, the female pharaoh. The one who was regent after the death of her husband Thutmose II. She who after two years took the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt away from her stepson/nephew, then yet a child, declared herself to be King and Pharaoh and therefore also a god; who reigned for about twenty years while the young Thutmose was left to seethe and await his turn. Since he was eventually regarded as one of the most outstanding pharaohs in history, known as the Napoleon of Egypt, she must have been a formidable woman indeed.

Egypt is a mystical country at the top of every explorers destination list. After all it houses the greatest monuments on earth. Its temples and pyramids are world famous and they have intrigued the human race for centuries.
While visiting this ancient city, you can imagine being back in the time of the Pharaohs. People still dress traditionally wearing their headscarfs and bedouin wraps. Call to prayer can be heard 5 times a day. There is a strong sense of tradition in the land and you feel as if you are frozen in time. Visiting the great pyramids lets you imagine exactly what life would have been like thousands of years ago.

Seeing Red: Diving Holidays on the Red Sea
By: Elisha Burberry
The Red Sea's narrow, sheltered shores have extensive shallow shelves which allow marine life to flourish; the region supports over 200 hard and soft species of coral, over 1000 invertebrates and over 110 species of fish - 10 percent of which are not known to be found anywhere else in the world. The rich biodiversity of the area has been officially recognised by the Egyptian government, who set up the 'Ras Mohamed National Park' in 1983 to protect the Red Sea from pollution and over development.

By: Adriana Allen
Women’s dress
The Eighteenth Dynasty, which spans the time period from 1550 until 1292 BC, is probably the most famous of all the dynasties of ancient Egypt. This is the age of the rule of Tutankhamen, as well as of Amenhotep IV and his wife Nefertiti. This is also the Dynasty of Hatshepsut, considered one of the most successful pharaohs and the longest reigning woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.
