• Pharaonic and Roman antiquities. There is a collection of pharanoiac inscriptions in Um Al-Fawageer in wadi el Hamamat 235 km south Hurghada, in addition to Roman ruins (71 Km south of Hurghada), and the remains of Roman temples in Gabal EL Dokhan (65 Km north of Hurghada).

Ismailiais the capital of Suez canal area. Sits on the west bank of the Canal. 53 kilometers south of Hurghada, an ancient marine port well known for its unpolluted atmosphere, black sand dunes and mineral springs.

The position of the city once made it one of the major strategic ports in the Red Sea. It is located 85 kilometers south of Safaga and 140 kilometers south of Hurghada. The city was known as the white harbor in the ptolemic time. Several civilizations during the past four thousand years have used this remote outpost on the Red Sea coast as starting point to go exploring, expanding and trading with remote lands. The importance of Al-Quseir is due to fact that it is located at the end of the shortest route from the Nile River to the Red Sea, and there for it become one of the ancient Egypt`s very earliest and most important lands to Egypt and the Mediterranean.

Propably the most famous ancient expedition through Al-Quseir was the one deployed in 1493 BC by Queen Hatshepsut to the fabled land of Punt. It is recorded at Deir el-Bahari, her legendary temple on the west bank of Luxor that contains a detailed by many with current Ethiopia, and this land Hatshepsut sent her general Semenmet to purchase refined goods such as myrrh, frankincense, ebony, ivory and exotic animals.

Close to Marsa alam international Airport, and so very easily reachable, Port Ghalib is a beautiful port with its own legend, and now a thriving marina and tourists town.

Port Ghalib is located five minutes from Marsa Alam International Airport and 2,5 hours by road from the valley of the kings.  Today there are no ghost ships to be seen , but the area has grown into a luxurious marina and tourist resort with excellent hotels by the beach serving asa haven for sun seekers and diving enthusiasts, spa and wellness lovers as well as those who would like to explore the wonders of Egypt.
